About the Role

 

The Systems Engineering & Testing (SE&T) team at UATG is charged with answering,  “What does the system need to do, what is the architecture, how is it performing, and when do we release it?”  We are the cross-functional, technical interface between Product, Safety, Hardware, Software, and Operations groups.  Our goal is to ensure unbiased, holistic, and cross-functional design that optimizes across domains. We do this by analyzing data on where our vehicles operate, generating scenario and capability focused requirements with performance criteria, and collaborating closely with key stakeholders and subject matter experts throughout the organization to architect solutions.  To evaluate our performance, we develop and execute a comprehensive strategy that combines simulation, laboratory / HIL, closed track, and open road testing. Finally, we believe in collaborating with and adapting industry best practices while providing continuous delivery and improvement of our process, tools, and artifacts as we learn more about this evolving technology and industry.

 

As an Autonomy System Analyst, you will be part of a team responsible for performance analysis and verification of the ATG autonomy platform in test, simulation, on track and public road testing. You will be analyzing events from various testing modalities using your in-depth understanding of Autonomy stack and experience in variety of testing efforts to fully evaluate and verify the system to ensure it is functioning properly and is performing according to the requirement.

What You’ll Do

  • Review events from various testing modalities

  • Identify any errors in testing activities by ensuring test is conducted as per the standard and the procedure and communicate actively with the relevant owner to ensure there’s a proper resolution
  • Analyze and track defects identified in testing and verify issue found is resolved and closed and actively communicate with the stakeholder(s)
  • Synthesize feedback from our Vehicle Operators about the performance of the autonomy system
  • Participate in preparing reports and software discussions to enable our end consumer to efficiently drive proactive decision making
  • Play a key role in finding and understanding qualitative trends related to software performance by identifying evidence regarding cause-effect relationship and providing meaningful insights on quality of software under test
  • Define and implement process improvements for optimization through various methods of restructuring, automation and others.

 

What You’ll Need

 

  • Bachelors in Physics, Math or Engineering field or with 3-5 years of relevant technical work experience
  • Experience working with Unix systems and a familiarity working on the command line
  • An understanding of the software development life cycle
  • Comfortable working on a task that’s repetitive in nature, while still ever-changing
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Previous software quality testing experience a plus
  • Advanced data analysis skills with Excel, python, R, or other general data science tools a plus
  • Experience supporting multiple business areas and management a plus
