Working together to bring Uber to BC!

The Uber Canada team has been working with your provincial and municipal officials to find a regulatory solution that embraces ridesharing in British Columbia.  And while this process has been slow at times, the level of interest we’ve seen across the province has been nothing short of incredible!

Over the past month alone, over twenty-five thousand people from all corners of BC have opened the Uber app in search of a ride:

     

With significant demand in the Lower Mainland, across the island and throughout the interior, it’s clear–British Columbians are looking for more transportation options to get around their communities.

People in 61 countries and over 340 cities worldwide – including Seattle, Portland, Calgary and Toronto – are benefiting from ridesharing.  Across Canada, there are over one million Uber trips each month, in over 30 municipalities.  

What can Uber bring to British Columbia?

Consumers love Uber because it connects them to a safe, reliable and affordable ride – typically at 30-40% less than a taxi – at the tap of a button.

Drivers love Uber because it provides higher earnings and complete schedule flexibility.

And cities love Uber because it gives residents and visitors a reliable ride when they need one, reduces congestion, and decreases impaired driving.

The bottom line? We hear you loud and clear BC, and we look forward to continuing our work with Provincial and City officials to connect residents and visitors to safe, affordable, and reliable rides.
