At Uber we’re constantly looking for ways to lift the bar when it comes to treating users of the app like VIPs, so when the opportunity to be involved in offering free rides to thousands of fans to the Australian Open popped up, we didn’t debate it for long.

We’re committed to enhancing the game-day experience for all tennis fans, and the Uber team is delighted to help get tennis lovers to the first Grand Slam of the year with ease, comfort and convenience through a dedicated Fan Fleet on the Uber app.

For some lucky fans, that journey to the Australian Open might include a complimentary ride in the all new Kia Seltos small SUV.

We’ve teamed up with Kia, the major partner of the Australian Open, to ensure there are 30 sleek Seltos cars in the Kia Fan Fleet to transport homegrown and international fans to and from the Australian Open in style and for free.

Having your chance to land a complimentary ride to the Australian Open from the CBD or Melbourne Park starts in the Uber app. If there is a Kia Seltos vehicle online you can select the Kia Fan Fleet icon from the list of ride options inside the Uber app.

If the time is right and you’re game, you’re set to match up with a Kia Seltos.

It’s a sweet upgrade for tennis lovers, alongside the wider Fan Fleet which includes UberX, XL, Comfort and Premier giving all fans a convenient way to arrive at this world class event.

While the Kia Fan Fleet is ace, the upgrades don’t stop there.

Uber account holders should keep an eye on the @Uber_Australia instagram for clues as to where comedian Joel Creasey will be celebrating Kia’s Surprise Sunday.

On January 26, kicking off at 9am the comedian will be handing out 32 passes to the tennis (including 12 double passes to Rod Laver Arena) to deserving fans at iconic landmarks across Melbourne. It won’t be hard to spot him, he’ll be dressed in teal as a Kia AO ballkid.

As usual all rides to the Australia Open will earn points on Uber Rewards so your trip to the tennis could be serving up your next in app perk.
