The Uber app works right across the Sunshine Coast and the surrounding areas, stretching to Noosa in the north, Caloundra in the south and inland to Maleny. You can check the full service area here.
You are welcome to go online anywhere within the service area, however, there are some areas that are typically busier than others. To increase your chance of receiving regular trip requests we suggest that you go online in the busier areas.
In and around Maroochydore, Mooloolaba, or Noosa are generally the best areas to situate yourself to increase your chance of receiving trip requests. We recommend heading to where locals and tourists are often located; around The Esplanade, Hastings Street, shopping centers, hotels, pubs, bars, restaurants, USC campus and the Airport.
Driver-partners based on the Sunshine Coast are also able to drive in any other Queensland city where Uber operates; including Brisbane, Gold Coast and Toowoomba. You can simply go online as you normally would.
Driver-partners are able to go online 24/7 however, most driver-partners can increase their fares by driving during busier times, particularly during peak hours and on weekends.
On the Sunshine Coast, trips request occur right across the week, however, the busiest times are typically on the weekends. In particular between 5 pm - 2 am on Friday and Saturday nights, with the busiest hours from 9pm - 2am on Saturday nights.
School holidays and long weekends are often times where riders flock to the Sunshine Coast and can be great times to drive.
We also recommend keeping up to date with local events, as often when there are locals and tourists heading to or from an event ride requests will be in high demand. Some major events will be communicated through your Driver App or in newsletters, so be sure to keep an eye out!
