The Uber app works right across the Gold Coast area, including Coomera to the north, Coolongatta to the south and inland to Springbrook and Tamborine. You can check the full service area here.
You are welcome to go online anywhere within the service area, however, there are some areas that are typically busier than others. To increase your chance of receiving regular trip requests we suggest that you go online in the busier areas.
Around Surfers Paradise, Broadbeach, Robina, Burleigh, and Coolangatta are generally the best areas to situate yourself to increase your chance of receiving trip requests. We recommend heading to where locals and tourists are often located; entertainment precincts, bars, pubs, restaurants, stadiums, theme parks, shopping centers, transit stations, and the Airport.
Driver-partners based on the Gold Coast are also able to drive in any other Queensland city where Uber operates; including Brisbane, Toowoomba, Sunshine Coast, Cairns, and Townsville. You can simply go online as you normally would in your home city.
Driver-partners are able to go online 24/7 however, most driver-partners can increase their fares by driving during busier times, particularly during peak hours and on weekends.
On the Gold Coast, trips request occur right across the week, however, the busiest times are typically on the weekends. In particular between 5 pm - 2 am on Friday and Saturday nights.
School holidays, long weekends and the across the Summer months are often times where riders flock to the Gold Coast and can be great times to drive.
We also recommend keeping up to date with local events, as often when there are locals and tourists heading to or from an event ride requests will be in high demand. Some major events will also be communicated through your Driver App or in newsletters, so be sure to keep an eye out!
