Aussie consumers have embraced Uber Eats as a fast and reliable food delivery option – and now offices around the country can get all those benefits plus more via Uber Eats for Business.
From today, Australian organisations can use Uber Eats for Business to manage food delivery for employees, whether they’re ordering lunch or dinner to the office or meals while traveling for work. Demand for Uber Eats has been growing from local businesses, with SAP Concur data showing that Uber Eats as an expense line item increased 194% over the past year in Australia.
One such business that’s been using a pre-launch version of Uber Eats for Business is the Australian division of global law firm, DLA Piper. “DLA Piper’s Uber Eats for Business account has made it much easier for our employees to order meals at times when they need to be in the office late,” said Garry Welsman, Financial Controller, DLA Piper.
“Uber Eats offers a huge variety of meal options to suit their tastes and dietary requirements, and greater flexibility around delivery time. Using the Uber Eats for Business account also takes the hassle out of keeping receipts and submitting claims, as the expenses are managed centrally and automatically. It’s a win-win for employees and the business.”
Now, with Uber Eats for Business, organisations across Australia can:
- Create set-and-forget meal programs: Admins can set up automated programs for late night meals at the office, lunch meetings for teams, and more. For example, if the admin wants to create a “late night meal” policy, they can geofence the location to the office address, and set the time of day so that the policy only works after 7pm on weeknights. The company can also choose how much to fund per meal; if employees need to spend more, it’s no problem, since everything over the spend allowance will be charged to their payment method of choice saved to their Uber Eats account.
- Straightforward, centralised billing: Uber Eats is already popular as an expensed food delivery option in Australia, having grown 194% annually as shown in Concur data. By ordering through Eats for Business, employees can eliminate extra steps and save time by automatically charging orders to the company account when the meal is within parameters set by the business..
- Full visibility into employee and team ordering: Leveraging detailed reporting from Uber for Business, companies can now receive a single, centralised bill so that they can have a clear idea of spending habits by team, with information into the time of day and the purpose of the order. This can help companies make better decisions around what kind of meal programs they should offer to individual teams.
As Head of Uber for Business, Australia & New Zealand, Georgia Foster, added: “We’re excited to create an even better corporate solution for Aussie businesses, combining food and transport into an easy to use platform.
“Whether employees want to save on room service bills and order a Poke Bowl to their hotel room after a long day of business travel or managers want to treat their team to Friday lunchtime pizza, we can’t wait to see how Eats for Business opens up the way that companies think about snacks and meals for employees and in meetings, in the same way that it’s impacted how we eat at home.”
