Uber raises the stakes for the Melbourne Cup Carnival

Put on your party shoes, tighten your ties, and fasten your fascinators—the Melbourne Cup Carnival is just around the track.

Taking place from 3-10 November at Flemington Racecourse, Cup Week boasts a plethora of activities to suit everyone, from horse-racing fans and culture vultures, to families and fashionistas.

We’re proud to partner up again with the Victoria Racing Club as the official rideshare partner of the Melbourne Cup Carnival for the next three years.

Uber moves the nation—for a race that stops a nation™. In 2017, we helped move thousands of people during Cup Week. We continue to raise the stakes this year—with Uber Rides, Uber Chopper and Uber Pickup and Dropoff Zones.

Uber Pickup and Dropoff Zones

Get to and from Flemington reliably, with one of our three Uber Pickup and Dropoff Zones located around the racecourse. Strike a pose, move to the beat, and be entertained as you wait for your Uber to arrive: we’ll have interactive artworks, musical entertainment, and free  treats for the road to keep everyone in a festive mood. We’re also teaming up with DrinkWise to provide complimentary bottled water and non-alcoholic beverages to keep punters hydrated.

Don’t miss a moment of carnival action. Request a ride to Flemington with UberX or Uber Pool to Flemington Racecourse (Uber Pool will not be available from the event).

Time to race out? Find the closest Uber Pickup and Dropoff Zone near you by following the signs onsite or checking your Uber app for prompts.

Uber Chopper—the fastest way off the track

Beat the traffic and take to the skies, with Uber Chopper on Demand. Thanks to our friends Microflite, we’re offering carnival-goers a daily helicopter service from the Main Gate at Flemington Racecourse to the Melbourne Helipad at Batman Park (opposite Crown Casino).

Chopper rides are priced at $1000 one way and seat up to six passengers (this fare is subsidised by Uber in partnership with Microflite). Be quick—only a limited number of Uber Chopper on Demand rides are available on each race day.
