Keri's story:
Event Planner, Small Business Owner, Californian

Meet Keri.

Keri began to form Elegant Expressions in January 2014. During that year, she planned the necessary steps and did all of her research, and officially opened the business in January of 2015. She also drives with Uber to make extra money and meet other San Diegans.

What's your favorite part about being an entrepreneur?
"My favorite part about being an entrepreneur is the freedom to dream, and create the life you want. There is nothing that can restrain you. If you have the desire, then there is a way to make your dream a reality."

What goals are you pursuing as an entrepreneur?
"Of course, the goal of any entrepreneur is to be successful. My measure of success is to operate nationally, and possibly beyond."

How would you describe your business? What is it all about?
Elegant Expressions is a prestigious full service event management company that plans, designs, and coordinates event experiences. With an emphasis on premium quality service, a flair for sophisticated event design and personal attention to detail, every client is provided the components for an encounter that will go beyond your wildest dreams!"

How did you get started with Uber? "I began driving for Uber in January of 2015. My sister urged me to give it a try because of the great things she heard about the company. I did, and almost a year later, I am so glad I took her advice."

"Being a small business owner, it’s so important to network and Uber offers that possibility. I meet such a mix of people on a day-to-day basis, it’s really a charm."
— Keri, Owner of Elegant Expressions Events & Designs

Starting and running your own event management company is no small feat, so Keri started driving with Uber to help make additional income on her own schedule.

"I love the flexibility that Uber offers, which is so important in my field of work," she says. "At any given moment, I have to be available to meet with clients, vendors, or partners."
