Driving at Wichita Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport (ICT)

Airports can be complicated places, especially for drivers. But knowing the basics, and getting information in advance about your local airport, can help make sure you’re prepared for your first pickup or dropoff.

Pickups at the airport

It’s easy to receive trip requests from riders leaving the airport. However, these trips work a little differently than other requests. To receive a trip request at the airport, you need to enter the dedicated staging lot, where you will be placed in line to receive a pickup request from the airport.

Here’s how it works:

  • Drive into the dedicated staging area located at either the close-in lot or the cell phone lot.
  • You’ll be placed in line for the next pickup—pickups work on a first-in, first-out basis.
  • Once you receive a request, accept it and head to the designated Uber pickup spots in the Southern end of the close-in lot.

Dropoffs at the airport

At the airport, simply drop-off riders at their requested departures gate.

Rematch

Rematch is a new feature that may help you get requests faster at the airport. With Rematch, when you drop off a rider at the airport, you may receive a new request quickly instead of having to wait in the airport FIFO (first-in, first out) queue. If you don’t receive a request within a few moments, this means there are no Rematch trips available and you should go to the FIFO area if you’d like to wait for another request.
