How to deliver with Uber

Learn how to become a top-rated delivery partner with Uber and receive more earnings and delivery requests throughout the day.

Vehicles model year 1997 or newer are eligible for delivery access. Provisional licenses are not allowed on the platform.

Busiest times

The majority of demand occurs during lunch (11am-2pm) and dinner (6pm-10pm).

Busiest areas

A high number of requests come from restaurants located in Dupont Circle, around 14th St Corridor, H St NE, and Arlington, Alexandria, Bethesda and Silver Spring.

Delivery fares and payment

Delivery fares

The following fares are in effect for all deliveries:

  • $3.80 pickup
  • $1.50 dropoff
  • $1.60 per mile

*Subject to Uber fee. Per mile calculation based on fastest route between pickup and drop off locations as shown within in-app navigation.


You will receive your earnings via direct deposit every Thursday for the previous Monday-Monday of delivering with Uber, or instantly transfer your earnings to a debit card at any time.

Requirements in DC

Vehicle requirements

  • At least 19 years old
  • Have a 2-door or 4-door car made after 1997
  • Have a valid driver's license, insurance and registration
  • Have at least 1 year of driving experience in the U.S.

Bicycle requirements

  • At least 19 years old
  • Have a state-issued ID
