San Francisco Bay Area
Learn more about how each trip fare is calculated when delivering with Uber.
We’ve heard feedback that every step of a delivery has its unique challenges. That’s why we’re updating the way delivery fares are calculated in order to better reflect the service you provide.
Starting Monday April 17th, you’ll get compensated for each pickup and dropoff you complete, in addition to the per mile rate for the distance you travel.
San Francisco: $3.50 per pickup + $2.00 per mile + $1.25 per dropoff (new)
All Other Areas: $3.25 per pickup + $1.25 per mile + $1.00 per dropoff (new)
For example, if you deliver a meal from Halal Guys in Downtown SF to the Mission, the fare would be calculated like this:
$3.50 pickup + ($2.00 x 3 miles) + $1.25 dropoff = $10.75 fare
Just as before, we’ll deduct Uber’s 25% service fee, so your total payout would be $8.00.
Payments for trips with 1 pickup & 2 dropoffs
For deliveries where you pick up 2 orders, we’re making changes to the way you receive payment in order to better reflect the effort you put in.
For example, if you do one pickup at Halal Guys in Downtown SF and leave with two orders, then deliver to two separate locations in the Mission, the fare would be calculated like this:
$3.50 pickup + ($2.00 x 3 miles) + $1.25 dropoff + ($2.00 x 1 mile) + $1.25 dropoff = $14.00 fare
Just as before, we’ll deduct Uber’s 25% service fee, so your total payout would be $10.50.
