Meet your fellow driver-partner, Norman
For the past 16 years, Norman has been paralyzed from the waist down. "When Uber came to Portland, it gave me a chance to have a life again and to have a sense of worth."
Overcoming adversity, Norman has found a new lease on life. He strives to be as helpful as possible to his riders and to encourage them to go after their dreams. Because given what he's been through, anything's possible.
His advice to other driver-partners? Be polite and be courteous. It'll go a long way.
Meet your fellow driver-partner, John
With the 6k trips milestone soon to be in his rearview mirror, John's biggest piece of advice to driver-partners is to, "Enjoy the ride because every trip is an opportunity to learn something."
John has learned a lot from his riders along the way. One of his favorite trips was with a father and his two little girls who had super spunky personalities. Kids apparently do say the darndest things. "As an Uber driver-partner, it's great to get a glimpse into other people's worlds," John said with a smile.
One of the many reasons John drives for Uber is because it's an opportunity for him to learn more about his home city and people in the Portland community. John said, "I find enrichment in meeting new people and helping them get from place to place!"
We're grateful for John and our driver-partner community. Thanks for all that you do.
Meet your fellow driver-partner, Tan
Tan will be hitting the 5k trips milestone soon, and drives with Uber because of the flexibility and freedom to set his own schedule. "I can work when I want to!" Tan said with a grin.
5,000 trips means he's met a lot of amazing Portlanders. His most memorable ride was a trip with a vision-impaired woman and her guide dog. "She was such a nice lady, and I had a great time talking to her. I love helping others." Tan said.
For driver-partners looking for that 5 star rating, Tan's words of wisdom are to, "Treat every customer the same, like each one is a VIP. You get to start fresh and new with every customer."
We're grateful for Tan and our driver-partner community. Thanks for all that you do.
