Accepting a trip
When you receive a delivery trip request, the screen will say “UBEREATS” at the top.
When you accept the delivery trip request, you will be directed towards the restaurant to pick up the food.
Click on the navigate button to be taken directly to the restaurant.
When you arrive at the restaurant you will see the pick up instructions that guide you to the best place to wait.
Once you get to the restaurant, stretch your legs and head inside.
Once inside the business, let a staff member know you’ve arrived to pick up an order. Bring in your phone and show them the order numbers, and the customer names. Be sure to have all orders before starting the trip–you’ll often have more than one!
When the restaurant is handing over the food, tap “VERIFY ITEMS” and you will see the following screen.
We suggest you confirm the items on the “VERIFY ORDER” screen are in the bag. Once you have confirmed the order, click “YES” to confirm all items are accounted for.
The drop off
After verifying the items, tap START TRIP, and you will be directed to the drop off location where the customer will be waiting.
When you arrive, swipe up in the app for specific instructions or requests from the customer like “park in front of the building” or “leave delivery with the doorman."
Only end a delivery trip once you have handed the order to the customer.
PRO Tip: A delivery fare is based on distance, so don’t miss out on earnings by ending the trip too early!
Contacting the restaurant or recipient
The customer will receive an alert when you’re nearby, so they’re ready for you. If you need to contact them, tap the clipboard icon at the top of the app to call or text them.
You can also contact the restaurant if there is an issue with the order.
If you have an issue while on a trip you can also contact our customer support line. Simply tap the clipboard icon in the top right corner of the app and call the number at the bottom of the screen.
**All correspondence is done anonymously through the app.
The peak delivery times are 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, and 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. If you are an uberX partner, you would see that the busy times delivering with Uber are typically the downtimes on uberX! Our demand also increases during rain.
Park your bike/car at a suitable parking spot around the drop-off location. Most restaurants will have specific places to park to make things easier.
Carrying the food out of restaurant
Always ensure packaging items, cutleries, and other disposable items are provided. Place the hot and cold items separately and ensure that the items are placed upright. Ensure that the bag is tightly secure and placed in an upright position.
Greeting the Customer
All deliveries should be made to the customer's door. When the customer opens the door, introduce yourself to make sure you’re handing the right order to the right person, such as: “Curry Up Now, for Jennifer.” Remember the customers will rate the experience, so it's a good idea to be courteous.
