Start the screening process

Drivers on the Uber platform must pass through a free screening process, which also includes a background check.

Your screening will only begin after your driver's license has been submitted and approved. Check your screening status.

Upload your documents

The following documents must be uploaded to finish your profile.

  • Driver's license | Valid and issued over a year ago. If your license was issued less than a year ago, please provide your previous license or your DMV record to prove driving experience.

  • Texas vehicle insurance | Must be valid and include your name.

  • Texas vehicle registration | Must include VIN (same as insurance), vehicle make, year, and expiration date. Does not need to include your name as long as your name is on the insurance. Buyer's tag accepted.

Add payment information

Your weekly fares will be direct deposited into your checking account every Thursday. In order for payments to process successfully, ensure the following:

  • Your routing number is correct
  • Your account number is correct
  • You're using a checking account (no savings accounts or credit unions)

When asked for tax classification, most partners select "Individuals / Sole Proprietor." Please choose the option that is most accurate for you.
