Resources for partners impacted by Hurricane Harvey

In the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey, our thoughts are with all of the families who were affected by the storm. We sincerely hope you and your loved ones are safe. As damage is assessed and cleanup efforts begin, we are committed to supporting you as best we can.

Below, you’ll find a list of resources that may be helpful during this difficult time.

Relief resources

  • Flood and home rebuilding resources

    • Our friends at SBP (formerly St. Bernard Project) are offering resources to homeowners affected by flooding so they can make smart, informed decisions during this stressful time. Examples include how to file an insurance claim, apply for federal disaster aid, and avoid contractor fraud. These free resource guides are available here.

    • The FEMA Hurricane Harvey resource page is a comprehensive resource and information page with safety tips, disaster recovery resources, and information on how to apply for assistance.

    • If you have flood insurance through the National Flood Insurance Program, the NFIP resource page includes information on what is and is not covered, wait periods before filing a claim, and deductible need-to-knows.

    • Through the American Red Cross, people who need assistance with the recovery process can call 1-800-REDCROSS to speak with their client casework team. Additionally, their Hurricane Safety and Flood Safety pages include comprehensive lists of safety and preparedness information.

  • Legal aid

The State Bar of Texas has established a toll-free hotline that allows you to connect with local legal aid providers following recent flooding and other severe weather in Texas. The number to call is 800-504-7030 and more information on the hotline can be found here.

  • Pet/animal resources

If you have an animal emergency, inquiry, or report related to Hurricane Harvey, visit the Houston SPCA website or call their Animal Rescue Disaster Hotline at 713-861-3010.
