About the Role

 

 

Builds and leads a team focused on the evaluation, selection, and design of next-generation advanced sensing components for Uber ATG’s fleet of self-driving vehicles.  Partners closely with stakeholders across the organization including hardware, perception, systems engineering, and systems safety. Maintains strong relationships with vendors including staying dialed in to the latest advancements in sensing for autonomous systems.  Ensures that ATG has early exposure to the best available technologies and an ability to rapidly integrate and evaluate these technologies.

What You’ll Do
    • 5+ years experience in robotics / autonomous systems
    • Deep knowledge of underlying physics, signal processing, and hardware design elements of modern autonomous vehicle sensor systems
    • Knowledge of state-of-the-art perception algorithms
    • Strong ability to partner effectively with a broad array of internal and external stakeholders spanning hardware, software, and autonomy functions
    • Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-functioning technical teams
    • Strong experience in the following areas:
    • Sensor system design / evaluation / selection
    • Sensor / device integration (encompassing both hardware and software integration elements)
    • Perception algorithm design, implementation, and evaluation
    • Managing vendor relationships
    • Developing high-quality software in a production environment
    • Working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
