About the Role


The IT Engineering Compliance team plays a critical role executing high-impact company-wide initiatives and continuously improving processes to increase the effectiveness of Uber as an organization.

As the organization works to ensure that every single experience with Uber is simple, secure, and safe, the Business Systems Architect for this team will work in partnership within a highly matrixed team model, to drive a world class program, focusing on legal systems, services and sources. This BSA will focus on the corporate systems while partnering to ensure the integrity of our contracts lifecycle management ecosystem

What You’ll Do

  • Work in partnership with the various legal and IT Engineering teams to drive the overall strategy and direction for legal systems across Uber.
  • Define and drive the long term roadmap of legal systems, specifically SpringCM within Uber, involving multiple teams through all phases of planning, implementation, operational readiness, and support.
  • Gather requirements for the design and implementation of SpringCM
  • Prioritize efforts and identify and manage risks and dependencies of the program and organize milestones for efficient execution.
  • Run Agile project management for the development of legal systems.
  • Oversee and delegate the day-to-day functions of the program including planning, development and implementation, completion of objectives, and data management.
  • Identify potential process improvements and opportunities to scale the organization and manage the effective implementation of these changes.
  • Prepare and maintain a variety of reports, updates, and correspondence regarding program activities and deliverables.
  • Fosters internal and external partnerships to anticipate, recognize, and work through resistance or setbacks.


What You’ll Need

  • 3+ years experience as a Business Systems Architect with contract lifecycle management experience
  • Solid technical aptitude and an ability to understand technical designs, challenges and risks. Engineers enjoy working closely with you.
  • Solid understanding and experience with SpringCM and Docusign
  • Experience with end to end contract lifecycle management.
  • Experienced with Agile and Waterfall methodologies and able to apply them where best suited.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and exceptional emotional intelligence. Ability to influence and motivate people across a broad variety of job functions through your relationships.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously, without losing sight of highest priority items.
  • Strong technical, analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations and drive decisions.
  • Ability to understand complex concepts and make reasoned decisions objectively.


Bonus Points If

  • Experience working within a high paced startup environment.
  • Experience with compliance in a corporate IT environment.
  • Experience and understanding of Seal or other legal AI software
