Become a professional driver

Using the Uber app as a professional driver means being more independent, meeting new people and making your own schedule.

How do I start?

1. Create a driver profile

With just a few clicks you can register a driver profile and start the process of becoming a professional driver.

2. Make an appointment at one of our Greenlight Hubs

Our experts are here to help you on your way to becoming a pro, so you can get your first ride as soon as possible. To make an appointment, please go to the help section of your app and then select "Make a personal appointment".

3. Obtain a license for professional passenger transportation

To become a self-employed professional driver in Switzerland, you need at least a B121 driver's license and a vehicle registered for professional passenger transport.

4. Find a vehicle

Value added tax liability (if applicable)

It usually takes 2 to 4 weeks to complete the VAT registration process. This page will guide you through the basics of this process. For specific advice on your personal situation, you should consult a tax advisor.
