What You’ll Do

  • Understand our processes on a regional basis and lead efforts to optimize our partnerships
  • Manager relationships and stakeholders and forge new partnerships when it benefits the business
  • Research market dynamics and build business cases to evaluate and propose new payments solutions
  • Provide strategic and proactive guidance to new line of businesses and internal stakeholders on new partnership opportunities
  • Lead projects across internal and external parties to effectuate payment solutions
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to develop payments strategies across markets
  • Collaborate with product management and engineering to build-out critical payments platforms
  • Forge new and enhance existing global payments relationships; working and negotiating with external business partners and vendors
  • Bring serious analytical horsepower to ad-hoc analyses

What You’ll Need

  • 5 to 10 years of payments, consulting or investment banking experience and an understanding of the global payments ecosystem
  • Experience building payments systems in online, e-commerce, or marketplace services
  • Advanced knowledge of card-not-present payments, alternative payments, and risk mitigation solutions. In-depth experience with disbursement channels like Visa Direct or MasterCard MoneySend a plus
  • Team player who can manage projects in a dynamic work environment
  • Proven negotiating skills and influencing abilities
  • Ability to develop and implement a strategic vision
  • Strategic thinker who can conduct extensive market and payment product research
  • Strong ability to build financial models and related scenario analyses
  • Team player who can manage projects in a dynamic work environment
  • Balance attention to detail with swift execution - we need to do things quickly, and we need to do them well. Balancing those can be challenging, and this should be a strength of yours
  • Strong SQL/analytical skills

Payments are core to the Uber experience, and the Payments team at Uber builds the strategic and operational infrastructure required to support Uber at scale across numerous geographies and products. In this role you will join a small team focused on driving the future vision of payments at Uber, including acceptance, disbursement, and strategic partnerships. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who thrives on ambiguity, has a reputation for extreme thoroughness, a background in international e-commerce, can operationalize complex pipelines and manual processes, and has an engineering/computer science background with a familiarity of payment processing systems.
