To be successful, you will need to bring strong market research, communication, leadership, and analytical skills, with an ability thrive in a dynamic fast-paced environment. Ideal candidates have a diverse set of general business skills and judgement, in addition to a depth of specific domain knowledge in transportation and consumer market research.

What you’ll do:
You will work with cross-functional teams of product managers, engineers, data scientists, and other product professionals in one of the most high-impact projects for the future of the company.
You will explore the market implications of deploying self-driving vehicles at scale: from understanding the long-term effects on demand, to capturing the changes that this new fleet could induce in the behavior of our driver partners.
You will create market segmentation models to help us understand how to optimally position self-driving enabled products within the context of the Uber platform.
You will partner with some of Uber’s most critical program teams to ensure they effectively use advanced analytics. You will also help them in the productionizing of your models and insights, to ensure others can learn and leverage your work.
You will research and implement new, novel algorithms and workflows - our problems are some of the most unique in the world, we need to be aware of the latest advances and be able to leverage them.
What we're looking for:
A deep background and proven (3+ yr) track record in transportation market research.
Working knowledge on how to estimate latent demand for a new mode of transportation. Ample experience with choice modeling and econometrics concepts.
World class leadership, research, analysis, and communication skills.
Superb quantitative background with a graduate degree in a quantitative domain such as Transportation Research, Computer Science, Machine Learning, Operations Research, Statistics, Market Research or similar.
Demonstrable proficiency in coding, programming concepts, and technical tools with analysis combined with the enthusiasm and passion to build.
Someone who is willing to contribute new ideas and articulate them to a variety of stakeholders and not just execute on existing ones.
A forward thinking personality, a project leader, a great collaborator and a master disambiguator/simplifier.
A commitment to learning - We want someone who seeks to deliver impact, but also invests in themselves and others. We don’t get better by standing still, so you will need to consistently seek to innovate and raise the bar.
A love of data - you just go get the data you need and turn it into an insightful story. You know how to convert data into decisions without getting stuck in paralysis by analysis.
