About the Role

This Director role will lead the team responsible for providing legal support to the Uber Health product team. The Director will support enhancement and expansion of the Uber Health product offering, including into government healthcare program reimbursement and support functionality. The role will also support the sales and business development teams to advise on and negotiate commercial agreements, including agreements with commercial insurers, provider agreements, and business associate agreements, and with the Regulatory and Policy teams on legislative and regulatory affairs.

What You’ll Do

  • Advise on strategy and planning for product roadmap, strategic partnership deals and new markets
  • Lead review of state and federal regulation to support the expansion of government healthcare program reimbursement efforts
  • Collaborate with the Uber Health partnerships and product counsel teams on the review and negotiation of commercial agreements
  • Assist the Regulatory and Policy teams on interpreting existing federal and state laws and regulations and drafting emerging federal and state legislation and regulations


What You’ll Need

  • 8+ years of legal experience focusing on healthcare law at a mid to large size law firm, government regulatory entity, in-house at a healthcare provider, or health insurer, with a J.D. from an accredited law school
  • Extensive knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid laws and experience with billing and claims requirements and practices, including experience in the context of Medicare Advantage, Medicaid managed care and Medicare and Medicaid fee for service
  • Knowledge of applicable regulatory actions and enforcement environment
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with HIPAA Privacy, Security, and Breach Notification regulations
  • Experience advising on and negotiating agreements with commercial insurers, provider agreements, and business associate agreements
  • Proven ability to work cross functionally to achieve maximum efficiency in providing legal support
  • Outstanding writing, research, negotiating, and interpersonal skills. Strong oral advocacy and presentation skills
  • Preferred: Experience advising on legislative and regulatory affairs
