About the Role

 

The first product manager for urban drone delivery will focus on our new initiative to deliver food for Uber Eats through the air, providing food on-demand faster and more reliably than ever before. The candidate will, in short order, establish and begin executing Uber’s cross-functional short and long-term plan towards urban, scaled drone delivery.

What You'll Do

Leveraging the learnings and investments from Elevate, this product manager will craft and refine our go-to-market strategy. Combining both off-the-shelf and custom technologies, they will build out our drone product strategy under the FAA Integration Pilot Program (IPP), test out payload integration strategies, refine the concept of operations, and manage integration with our airspace services platform and our core Eats marketplace.

 

What You'll Need

This role requires

  • Strong vision and strategic thinking
  • Executive-quality management skills - able to lead a cross-functional team in a zero-to-one product launch
  • Deep technical depth, including an understanding of both hardware and software development timelines

 

Bonus Points

The ideal candidate has some experience, both academic and applied, with aircraft development (preferably low-altitude, package-carrying, autonomous aircraft)

 

About the Team

The candidate will report to Head of Aviation, Eric Allison, and will work most closely with Head of Operations and Safety, Stan Swaintek, Head of Elevate Cloud Services, Tom Prevot, Head of Aviation Policy, Kate Fraser, and Head of Product, Nikhil Goel.
