About the Role


Uber's Global Payments team is responsible for driving the strategic and operational execution of ensuring seamless payment to our global partners (drivers, suppliers, couriers, restaurants, etc.) as part of Uber's on-demand commerce platform. This function is critical to operationally enabling new markets (geographies and products) and growing the partner ecosystem and experience through enhanced payment solutions.


In this high impact role, the Americas Manager position will be responsible for leading a team of payments analysts who own the successful execution of daily partner payment operations at scale. Additionally, you will be expected to lead cross functional initiatives to streamline operations and launch new payment tools to reach partners in one of Uber's most dynamic and innovative regions. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in evaluating various disbursement solutions as the Fintech sector evolves, through a range of performance based metrics used to evaluate the overall payments experience throughout the region.



What You’ll Do
  • Oversee partner payment operations across the region and set/own key regional KPIs
  • Build deep relationships across regional Ops teams to identify areas of improvement and gain insight into regional strategies; provide guidance on impact to payment operations
  • Drive optimization of existing and new partner payment processes through workflow automation, new payment rail integration and improved banking/Fintech solutions
  • Project manage and partner cross-functionally with internal stakeholders (Ops, BD, Product, Growth, Eng, Treasury, Accounting) to execute on operational and optimization strategies
  • Effectively manage escalations and drive process improvement changes across internal and external stakeholders (e.g., banks, payment vendors, etc.)
  • Track systemic issues and drive solutions to executive-level escalations
  • Coordinate with regional and central teams on cash management / banking needs to support regional operations
  • Develop processes and execute playbook around partner payment risk management
  • Ensure financial statement / reporting and payment regulation compliance
  • Build a world-class team of analysts and foster a collaborative, team focused growth environment for career development

What You'll Need

  • BS/BA in Finance or Business, preferred
  • 5+ years of business operations experience and direct management experience in a high-growth environment
  • Start-up experience a plus
  • Effective cross functional project management experience
  • Exceptional critical thinking and problem solving abilities
  • Excellent, clear communications skills at all levels
  • Strong track record of success in a metrics driven environment
  • Financial and banking systems knowledge preferred
  • Proven track record of developing and retaining key talent throughout the organization
  • Meaningful desire to evolve and take initiative
  • Basic SQL knowledge a plus
