Market Entry Project Manager


About the Role

Uber and JUMP are looking for a sharp, highly motivated individual to join JUMP’s Market Entry team.  We are growing the team to rapidly pave the way for JUMP launches in cities across the world. We are looking for a strong Project Manager who loves shared mobility and is knowledgeable about or eager to learn the complexities of this expanding industry.


The Project Manager will work on our Market Entry team and coordinate complex projects with Policy, Operations, Legal, Product, and Launch teams to ensure the market is cleared for launch. This role requires an individual with a diverse skill set capable of coordinating long-lead projects with cross-functional stakeholders and building consensus within occasionally ambiguous conditions. An extreme attention to detail is key to the role, which involves reading technical documentation, writing concise briefings, and tracking complicated projects for daily progress. The Market Entry Project Manager will become an expert in how to open new markets for shared mobility.


This role will be based in our San Francisco, CA office and may at times require extensive travel.

What you’ll do:

  • Build strong relationships with cross-functional teams to ensure market entry clearance
  • Track projects against market entry team checklist, and update, improve, or modify it as needed
  • Research local market regulations and requirements, and dispatch tasks to specialized teams
  • Anticipate potential obstacles preventing market clearance long in advance
  • Propose and execute creative plans to resolve obstacles
  • Operationalize the internal processes that lead to successful market entry
  • Identify operational weaknesses and innovate new processes to improve future outcomes
  • Develop spreadsheets, project trackers, and process maps to document progress and approach
  • Travel to markets in question to coordinate with local teams


What you’ll need:

  • 3-5 years experience in project management or related field leading complex projects involving cross-functional teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working with other professionals and ability to steer and motivate colleagues
  • Ability to dissect large problems into clear actionable steps
  • Tenacious spirit to arrive at solutions where seemingly none exists
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills which don’t waver when faced with overwhelming situations
  • Self-driven work ethic to execute tasks with integrity when direction may be lacking
  • Naturally curious perspective seeking to innovative where needed
  • Analytically oriented mindset focused on demonstrating impact of initiatives
  • Ability to drive results in a highly matrixed and relationship based organization
  • Willingness to work with remote teams across time zones
  • Excellent judgment
  • Bilingual candidates encouraged but not required
