About the Role
We are looking to fundamentally improve the way that Riders, Driver Partners and Couriers interact within the Uber app by leveraging imagery, 3D maps, animations and augmented reality. This starts by building the necessary infrastructure and base content to build multiple experiences off of. The role will be focused on machine learning approaches to generate photorealistic 3D reconstruction directly from imagery, geolocation of imagery, and investigate innovative new ways to improve the end user experience.
What You’ll Do
Develop in Python, Scala, and/or C++
Research machine learning techniques to generate photo realistic 3D cities
Generate new models capable of extracting 3D content directly from imagery
Transition machine learning models to mobile devices
Productionize computer vision algorithms at scale
What You’ll Need
Experience in computer vision or using CNNs
Experience with machine learned approaches for generating depth data directly from imagery or 3D content directly from imagery
Experience generating 3D mesh content from imagery
Experience with machine learning approaches for mapping and localization
Experience optimizing machine learned models on mobile devices
Bonus Points If
You have experience in the following areas:
Autonomous vehicle & general robotics
Classification & prediction
Experience with Spark or Scala
Experience scaling computer vision applications
Unity development experience
