What You’ll Do
Internalize and deeply understand Uber’s mission and strategies, as well as the mission and objectives of your team
Be creative - relentlessly identify new ideas and data sources to solve very difficult problems
Distill the vision and strategy for the team to generate actionable product initiatives
Drive cross-functional team to set qualitative objectives and quantitative goals
Lead the team to effectively build, ship, experiment, measure, and grow new products.
Be deeply truth-seeking. Collect whatever data is necessary to inform product direction, whether in the form of competitive intel, rider behavior or other business metrics. Solicit and embrace critical feedback.
Collaborate with local city teams and research to understand specific local rider needs and growth opportunities
Collaborate with Uber internal stakeholders, including the product operations, finance, legal, policy and global operations teams to ensure that our technology supports Uber's business objectives, globally
Lead the creation of pragmatic, prioritized, actionable roadmaps that effectively distill vision and strategy into efficiently shipped product results.
Monitor and measure launched products and feed insights back into product development process.
Clearly communicate product plans, benefits and results, as appropriate, to a spectrum of audiences, from internal partners to all Uber employees to riders.
What You’ll Need
A passion to apply technology and data to change how humanity moves
The proven ability to start and grow new initiatives within a global technology company
Experience launching and growing products globally
Minimum 6 years of product management experience or equivalent
Strong customer empathy, with an ability to transform complex data and customer insights into a prioritized roadmap and experimentation plan
Experience formulating and driving a principled product vision and owning the narrative around that vision for leadership and stakeholders
The ability to partner with cross-functional teams of engineers, data scientists, and designers to bring out the best in your team and deliver extraordinary products
Exceptional communication skills, both within your team and with leadership and stakeholders
Strong design instincts and product sense.
A computer science undergraduate degree or equivalent technical understanding based on direct work experience.
True passion for Uber’s mission and the company’s hybrid technology / operations nature.

Shared Rides is responsible for all multi-rider products at Uber, including Pool, Express Pool, and other emerging products. Our focus is on delivering affordable, quality transportation to the hundreds of millions of people globally who cannot afford a private ride. We strive to build products that not only meet the needs of riders, but also support the earnings needs of drivers, the livability of cities, and the ecology of the planet.
