Uber Center of Excellence is currently looking for a Business Continuity Manager to identify, develop and administer Business Continuity Programs (BCP) covering Business Interruption (BI), Disaster  Recovery (DR) and Crisis Management (CM) for the APAC COE sites.

 

About the Role:

 

This multifaceted role requires someone who is extremely organized, detail-oriented, process-driven and adaptable to change. This role is accountable for the development and end-to-end implementation of Business Continuity Program (BCP) and Disaster Response (DR) plan. The selected candidate is also responsible for the BCP/DR testing across two APAC COE sites in Manila and Hyderabad. The selected person will report to the Strategy, Planning & Projects Lead of APAC COE and may be involved with other related or unrelated strategic initiatives. BCP Manager does not have direct reports and acts as a individual contributor. Thus, the role requires both hands-on approach and preparedness to assume end-to-end ownership of BCP.

What you’ll do:

 

  • Creates and maintains the BCP components (e.g. policies, procedures, practices, testing) which define and describe the structure and function of the BCP programme.
  • Asses BCP risks, ensures consistency of risk identification, description and treatment across Lines of Business. Provides guidance to the business operations concerning risk and BCP
  • Maintains leading edge competency in and awareness of BCP trends, requirements, and opportunities. Challenges Accountable Executives, BCP Team and BCP related personnel to consider and respond appropriately to same
  • Assesses the effectiveness of the BCM programme through sampling and comparison to appropriate benchmarks at least annually
  • Creates and maintains programmes to build awareness of the importance of effective BCP at all management and staff levels
  • Develop test scripts and validate recovery strategy through drills or exercises – revise and update plans and operational tools/controls as required

 

What you’ll need:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in any field
  • In-depth knowledge of business continuity management in a multi-national company with strong experience in implementation of key processes; 5 - 8 Years of business continuity and risk management experience in a shared services and/or multi-national organization environment
  • A formal certification designation from DRI (Disaster Recovery International) or from BCI (Business Continuity Institute) would be considered a strong plus but not a must
  • Strong project management skills required, including the ability to work across multiple teams, channels, and reporting lines
  • Strong planning and organisational skills.
  • High level of energy, creativity, flexibility and dedication. A willingness to focus and commit to finding the best solution for the organization.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Extensive interpersonal skills and the ability to develop and maintain stakeholder relationships at all levels
