Data Analyst dedicated to Rider Growth

Uber is at the forefront of one of the most exciting marketplace challenges as the world rapidly evolves from desktop to on-demand mobile commerce. Our ability to effectively manage risk in this environment is key to our ongoing success and allows the company to make bold bets while maintaining a delightful and painless user experience. It’s our job to think about this so that our riders and drivers don’t have to.




  • Optimize the conversion of good-actor-signup-attempts and good-actor-login-attempts into logged in ready-to-ride users. You will drive incredible impact to the company as you will help improve user experience and save revenue.



  • Monitor anti-good-actor side-effects of new fraud-prevention policies and find opportunities to mitigate them
  • Conduct deep-dives into the signup and login end-user work-flow to identify obstacles to legitimate users creating an account or logging in
  • Track signup & login experiments designed to improve the signup & login end-user experience and improve good-actor conversion; includes ensuring good experiment design & identifying metrics impact of experiments.
  • Interface with Product Ops to investigate country-specific problems with account creation, login, OTP SMS-delivery, etc.
  • Maintain a close relationship with the Rider Growth Data Science team which has overall responsibility for maximizing the number of riders and number of trips in the short, medium, and long term timescales.

What you'll need


  • 5+ years of experience in a quantitative analysis role
  • A degree in statistics or a quantitative domain plus hands-on data analytics experience. Technical understanding must go from the highest abstractions down to the metal.
  • Excellent SQL skills, Big Data environment (Hadoop, Hive) and development experience in at least one scripting language (Python or R preferred)
  • Demonstrable domain expertise in product metric identification, improving data quality, A/B testing, and experimentation design and execution.
  • Ability to deliver on tight timelines and move quickly while maintaining attention to detail
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to execute on decisions
  • Self-driven with the ability to work in a self-guided manner
  • Masterful visualization skills and storytelling abilities
  • Superb communication and organization skills
