Halifax

Minimum requirements
To drive with Uber in Halifax, your vehicle must meet the following minimum requirements:
- 4-door vehicle
- 9 years or newer
- Vehicle cannot be salvaged or rebuilt
Nova Scotia Vehicle Permit
The vehicle does not need to be registered in your name to qualify but must be registered in the Province of Nova Scotia.
Certificate of Automobile Insurance
You should have and maintain an SPF 1 Automobile Insurance Policy issued in the name of the vehicle owner. This is the standard vehicle insurance for personal use.
Uber Sticker
The Uber sticker must be displayed when you are driving with Uber. Place it on the bottom right side of the rear windshield.
Not using the Uber sticker can result in heavy fines.

UberX
Most newer cars qualify to drive with UberX, the most popular vehicle option for riders.
Requirements
4-door vehicle 9 years or newer (2011 vehicle model year or newer) Good interior and exterior condition No salvaged or rebuilt vehicles
UberXL
Seat more passengers—and earn higher fares—with your high-capacity vehicle.
Additional requirements:
- 4-door SUV or minivan with independently opening doors
- Seat at least 6 passengers in addition to the driver
- No full-sized vans or trucks
- No taxi cabs, government cars, or commercially marked vehicles
Comfort
Comfort was designed to maximize possibilities on the Uber platform.
Additional requirements:
- Maintain eligibility on a different Uber option such as UberX and UberXL
- Have a minimum star rating of 4.85 and have completed at least 100 trips
- Drive a vehicle with more legroom than smaller, compact cars eligible for UberX and that meet the minimum vehicle year requirement
Uber sticker
Drivers must display an Uber decal on their vehicle while online. Place it on your front passenger windshield facing outward. You can remove it when you decide to go offline and save it for the next time. Pro tip: keep the paper it comes with to place your sticker on when not in use.
