August 1, 2018 / St. Louis

The world’s top golf professionals are in town for the 2018 PGA Championship. An increase in trips is expected as golf fans head out to catch every drive, chip, and putt on the greens. The tournament practice round takes place on August 8, and the majority of trip requests at the tournament are likely to occur between 3pm-9pm on August 9-12.

About the tournament

  • Dates: Wednesday, August 8 through Sunday, August 12 (first day practice round, tournament begins 8/9)
  • Location: Bellerive Country Club
  • Busiest times: between 3pm-9pm on August 9-12
  • Pickups and dropoffs – dedicated Uber lot, located just south of the golf course at 800 Maryville Centre Dr, Chesterfield, MO

The Uber lot

We’ve worked with the tournament to set up a dedicated Uber lot to make pickups and dropoffs a breeze. The Uber lot is located at 800 Maryville Centre Dr, Chesterfield, MO. Two ways to get to the lot are as follows:

From the west:
  • Head east on I-64 E
  • Take exit 22 for MO-141
  • Continue straight (signs for US-40 E)
  • Use the right lane to merge onto S Outer Forty Rd
  • Use the right lane to turn slightly right to stay on S Outer Forty Rd
  • Turn right onto Maryville Centre Dr
  • Destination will be on the right; follow Uber signage to the Uber lot
From the east:
  • Head west on I-64 W
  • Take exit 23 toward Maryville/Centre Dr
  • Merge onto N Outer 40 Rd
  • Use the left 2 lanes to turn left onto Maryville Centre Dr
  • Destination will be on the right; follow Uber signage to the Uber lot

Uber lot pickup info

We will be using an exciting approach to pickups that you’ll get to experience firsthand. Here is some information to help you navigate pickups at the Uber lot:

  • There will be signs about where the staging area in the Uber lot is located.
  • Once in the staging area, parking staff will direct a rider to your vehicle
  • By tapping “ENTER CODE” in the top left corner of the Uber Driver app, you will be able to enter the rider’s PIN code.
  • Before the rider enters the car, enter their 6-digit PIN code
  • You’re all set and can start the trip!
Please note: due to Missouri state regulations, you must enter your rider’s 6-digit PIN code before they enter your vehicle and before you start the trip.

Navigating road closures during the tournament

Road closures will make navigating the city different than usual, as streets around the golf course will be closed for the duration of the tournament. Using Uber Navigation will allow you to see real-time road closures directly in the driver app. Keep these road closures in mind when connecting with your riders and be sure to follow the instructions of any traffic officials and law enforcement.
