By matching up riders who are going in the same direction with uberPOOL, we’re not only making it more efficient to get around the Bay Area, but we can reduce the number of cars needed to move people around.

Since Earth Day last year, over 24,147,500 miles have been saved in San Francisco – which translates to over 482,950 gallons of gas, and 4,303 metric tons of CO2 emissions prevented. If you’ve shared a ride with others before, we want to thank you for reducing your trip’s contribution to congestion.

uberPOOL aside, if you would like to get involved in your local community this Earth Day, learn more about Oakland Earth Day activities here. On Saturday, you can find us at a neighborhood clean-up in Oak Tree. Earth Day is Oakland’s largest annual volunteer cleaning and greening event! In 2016 over 2200 volunteers helped clean and green 91 locations in parks, creeks, and streets in different neighborhoods in Oakland. Volunteers picked up litter, weeded and restored native plant habitat.
