Uber on, Arizona

April 22, 2015 / Phoenix

Arizona, uberX is here to stay.

With the stroke of a pen, Governor Doug Ducey made it official: Arizona is the latest in a growing list of states to embrace smart regulations that support innovation, expand economic opportunity and put consumer choice and safety first.

We’ve been proud to play a role in strengthening Arizona’s economy while making it easier, safer and more affordable for more people to get wherever they want to go. And we’re excited to do even more now that HB 2135 is the law of the land.

We have a long list of people to thank, including Governor Doug Ducey, Mayor Greg Stanton, Senators Kelli Ward and Robert Meza, Reps. Karen Fann and David Livingston, Weights and Measures Director Andy Tobin and leaders across Arizona whose support was critical in getting HB 2135 across the finish line.

But the biggest thank you of all goes out to you, Arizona. None of this, would have been possible without your support. Your calls, tweets and emails made all the difference and prompted elected officials to adopt regulations that work for Arizonans everywhere.

As Governor Ducey said, “[Ridesharing] companies are innovative, entrepreneurial technologies, and I want to see those companies thrive. They also create jobs. That’s something we want to see more of, not less.”

Because of you, there’s a whole lot more left to come. We’ll see you on the road.
