Basketball fans: Your weekend in AZ awaits

March 22, 2017 / Phoenix

If you’ve seen Arizona from social media, you know the sunsets (and sunrises) are picture-perfect. Now it’s time to get out and explore—beyond the sunset. We have you covered, door to door, for all of your basketball adventures.

Downtown Phoenix

Phoenix Convention Center: As the home of all of the basketball fan fun, and located right in the heart of downtown, the convention center is within walking distance of great restaurants, bars, and local activities. If you’re looking for something festive and tasty to eat nearby, try Majerle’s Sports Grill—owned by Dan Majerle of the Phoenix Suns. Margaret T. Hance Park: This is where you’ll find the free concert series over the weekend. Don’t miss out on some of the best performers and music to come to the valley this year. Friday at 4, Saturday at 2 and Sunday at 3—just enter Margaret T. Hance Park into your destination and join the fun. Downtown Food: You won’t go wrong with any of these suggestions: The Vig, Breakfast Club, Matt’s Big Breakfast, Taco Guild, and Fair Trade Cafe, are all located close to the downtown area. Scottsdale/Tempe: Looking to get out of the city? Scottsdale and Tempe are both great places to visit and only a quick ride from downtown. From places like Top Golf to Scottsdale Fashion Square to Mill Avenue, the fun is just beginning.

Glendale

Westgate Entertainment District: Located right next to Gila River Arena, this is like the Las Vegas Strip of Arizona. An exaggeration? Maybe a little. From shopping to eating, you could spend the whole day here checking everything out. Don’t forget to indulge in dessert! Tanger Outlets: Who doesn’t love a good discount? The Tanger Outlets, also right near the Gila River Arena, are a great place to find deals. And believe us—the store options go on. And on. You’re sure to find something you need, and leave with some great savings. Scottsdale/Tempe: The ride to Scottsdale and Tempe is just a little longer from Glendale, but definitely worth it if you have some time to get out and about.

No matter where the weekend takes you, remember to ride smart—and safely. We’re excited to welcome you to the desert, and remember, we’re only a tap away.
