This year, we’ve got a few exciting updates to make your festival season even more fun with Uber. You can also check out our ride guide below for info and tips to keep you moving during the fest.
Enjoy free wifi in select uberX and uberXL vehicles
Stay connected even when the festival is full swing with wifi-enabled cars. Vinli is powering select uberX and uberXL vehicles with free wifi in cars April 20 – May 1. Simply request an uberX or uberXL ride, and you may be lucky to get free wifi access on your ride! Now you’ll have plenty of chances to post those great festival pics.
Festival recommended pickup spots
When you’re ready to leave the Big Fest, make sure you request your pickup in an area that is as easily accessible to cars as possible. By taking a short walk away from crowds and street closures, it will be much easier and faster for you to connect with a driver. We recommend coordinating with your driver to determine the best pickup location.
Festival PRO TIPS
Check the price
Surge Pricing shouldn’t be a surprise. Get a Fare Estimate in the app before you ride. To avoid the highest fares, head to the festivities early or relax in the Quarter a little longer and wait for the crowds to die down after the music ends.
Fare split and save
Use fare split if you’re rolling with the whole krewe. uberX can seat groups up to 4, while uberXL can handle parties up to 6 passengers.
Confirm your driver
Due to road closures around the festival, we recommend that you call or text your driver through the app to coordinate the best pickup location. Make sure to confirm your driver’s car model and license plate in the app before you hop in your ride.
Be nice or leave
Festivals should be a fun time for all, so please be considerate to your driver so that everyone can enjoy the spirit of the season. For more tips, check out our blog post based on feedback from New Orleans driver partners.
Avoid a cleaning fee
Make sure you get don’t caught up in a cleaning fee by finishing up your drinks and snacks before you jump in the car to ensure there will be no accidental messes.
