Expansion at the Austin Greenlight Hub
We’re honored to serve Austin and we’re committed to providing driver-partners with world-class support each and every day. As part of our pledge to drivers, and to the Austin community, we’re excited to announce the opening of our new-and-improved East Side Greenlight Hub at 507 Calles Street. A big thank you to our driver-partners who joined us for a special event earlier this summer to celebrate this wonderful new space.
More room for collaboration
Our commitment to drivers involves helping them better understand how the app works—from Uber Navigation to Instant Pay, and everything in between. To serve as many drivers as possible, we’ve expanded our learning and presentation space for information sessions like Uber 101 and Uber 201. Through these sessions, drivers learn more about the driver app and how to make the most of their time on the road. This bigger space will also be used for exciting driver announcements, like 180 Days of Change.
More in-person support desks
As drivers from across the city and the state of Texas choose to earn with Uber, we’re thrilled to serve more drivers in our larger in-person support area. Our team of Uber Experts are on hand to provide one-on-one support to all drivers looking for help—no matter how small, or complex, the issue. And to better support our driver-partners from all walks of life, the Greenlight Hub is equipped to provide language translation services in more than 300 languages through a live, remote translator.
Project Jumpstart recipients
Project Jumpstart is a program that supports local initiatives near and dear to the hearts of our Austin driver-partners. As part of our continued commitment to the Austin community and to drivers, we’re proud to announce the newest recipients of the Project Jumpstart grant.
These recipients were nominated by our very own driver-partners who took the time to share what’s important to them within the community. And we listened closely.
Meals on Wheels of Central Texas
Meals on Wheels Central Texas seeks to nourish and enrich the lives of the homebound and other people in need through programs that promote dignity and independent living. They’re one of the largest meal-delivery organizations in the state, distributing 3,000 meals each weekday to homebound older adults and people with disabilities. As part of the Austin area community since 1972, Meals on Wheels offers an array of services; from in home care and grocery shopping assistance to veteran services and Alzheimer’s respite care.
Guy V. Lewis Impact Initiative
The Guy V. Lewis Impact Initiative is a non-profit organization whose mission is to impact and strengthen communities by creating schools, community centers, and basketball facilities for local neighborhoods. Suzanne nominated this cause after she saw first-hand how this non-profit helped a single mother who she goes to church with. She was in desperate need, and the Guy V. Lewis Impact Initiative was there to help.
Successful Smiles of Texas
This program is dedicated to charitable causes covering the advancement of oral health. They seek to fulfill this purpose through education, and preventative dental procedures at AISD middle schools, which gives greater access to care to all students.
We’d like to give a special thanks not only to the driver-partners who nominated these great organizations, but to the representatives from these non-profits who joined to celebrate with us during the Greenlight Hub grand opening. Be on the lookout for the next round of Project Jumpstart finalists coming soon!.
We are honored to serve Austin and look forward to a bright road ahead across the state of Texas. Thank you for riding and driving with Uber.
