It’s that time of year—students head back to school and commuters prepare for back-to-school traffic. At Uber, we’re committed to helping reduce congestion in Atlanta and to helping you get to and from work stress-free, which is why we’re launching a 50% discount on commuter fares to and from MARTA stations and GRTA Xpress Park and Ride locations as the school year begins.
When the I-85 bridge collapsed at the end of March, we launched a “Commuting Together” campaign to combat congestion, encouraging riders to take public transportation and the carpool version of Uber, uberPOOL. Commuters across the city took advantage of discounts on trips to and from MARTA stations—10% of all commuter-hour trips started or ended at MARTA, and 8,000 of those riders took their first uberPOOL trip to MARTA.
Now, as we approach the new school year and the increased traffic that comes with it, we are proud to further our “Commuting Together” commitment and apply a discount on uberPOOL trips to and from MARTA stations from July 31 through September 29. All riders will receive 50% off weekday uberPOOL rides that begin or end at a MARTA station and/or a GRTA Xpress Park and Ride location between the hours of 5am-10am and 4pm-8pm with the promo code MARTACommute or SRTACommute.* Riders can head to the Payment section of the Uber app menu, tap on Promotions, and tap “Add Promo/Gift Code” to apply the code.
By picking up where your train drops off, Uber complements MARTA and offers commuters an affordable and reliable alternative to getting behind the wheel each day.
Thanks, Atlanta. Let’s keep on Commuting Together.
