The Growth team is responsible for recruiting new business customers to join the Uber Works platform and for ensuring the highest-quality service is provided to those customers. The team focuses on all customer sizes - enterprise-level, mid-market, and small businesses - and works with customers to understand their labor needs. They also provide a clear roadmap for improving the quality of their staffing workforce, reducing their overall labor costs, and eliminating the hassle of recruiting and onboarding, through the Uber Works platform.
The Central Operations team’s goal is to create efficient, sustainable processes for the journey from business need to completed shift. Central Ops works across all operational functions to build the infrastructure that powers magical business and worker experiences.
The Local Operations teams own individual markets in which Uber Works operates. Local Ops works to understand market-specific customer and worker needs to adequately balance supply and demand and experiment rapidly in order to build the business faster and more efficiently.
The Engineering team builds the applications and infrastructure that power Uber Works. The Engineering team works closely with Design, Product, and Central and Local Operations to build and improve our foundational technology interfaces, including our apps for workers & business customers as well as tools for our Operations teams.
The Design team works closely with Product and our Operations teams to understand the inherent needs and behaviors of the businesses and workers that use the Uber Works platform. They conduct UX research and design technology for workers, our Operations teams, and business customers to increase ease of use and efficiency and to power simple and elegant experiences for all of our users.
The Data Science team are the core drivers of our marketplace strategy and technology applications that improves our ability to match workers with the right businesses. Our Data Science team’s models are integral to Uber Works’ efforts to provide reliability & quality to business customers, while providing workers consistency & choice.
The Product team owns and develops the product roadmap and strategy as well as serves as the key execution engine for the business. Product works alongside Design & UX research to bring together insights learned in the field by Operations and Growth teams and translates them into a strategy & features that achieve Uber Works’ business objectives.
The Expansion team owns Uber Works’ roadmap for geographic expansion, supporting the business’ efforts to achieve its scale objectives. The team evaluates and prioritizes new market opportunities, executes fast and efficient launches in new markets, manages stakeholder relationships across all functions, and works closely with Local Operations to ensure a smooth transition of new markets from launch state to a standardized operating model.
