Celebrating Women in Fitness this International Women’s Day

5 من مارس، 2017 / المملكة العربية السعودية

This week we are honored to bring you stories of incredible Saudi women who pursue their passion for health, sports, and fitness. We are proud to share with you their journeys, challenges, and advice.

Meet Halah Alhamrani.

Fitness and sports had always been part of Halah’s life since childhood. She started with gymnastics in school, which led her to discover the world of martial arts and eventually get her black belt in Japanese Jiu Jitsu. Halah also later discovered a passion for Muay Thai and boxing.

“Fitness has been the most important positive outlet for me throughout my life.”

Halah never settles. She continues to grow her skills and uses her expertise to support other women in their journey to becoming the best version of themselves: I am constantly evolving and developing my skill and knowledge through my personal daily practice, teaching others, attending workshops around the world.”

Halah acknowledges that many women face challenges when it comes to fitness. She would love to see more fitness and sports facilities as well as professional courses for women to gain knowledge to become practitioners themselves.

She is happy to see that in the recent years, with ride-hailing apps like Uber, women have been enjoying greater access to transport and increased mobility which has allowed more women to go to their place of fitness.

“Be bold, be brave and take the first step.”

When asked about the advice she would give women who want to get involved in fitness, Halah did not hold back: “Don’t hesitate – start today. Get up and go. Forget the excuses, forget starting tomorrow, just do it now. You only have now! It’s easier than you think, so be bold, be brave and take the first step. I believe in you!”
