Some photos from the past.

No this entry will not feature any of the photography of John Duncan, sorry I mean art as his work trancends genre.

But it does feature some photos my Dad took.

This one is dated 1958.

He had found a load of old negatives, going back to the 50's and 60's, and is getting me to scan them this week.

All his early stuff was taken with a Voigtlander rangefinder.

It's pretty much a veratible treasure trove of images, of a now alien culture, if you could call the past that.

Back in the days when photographers were a minority, now everyone is a bloody photographer.

He didn't turn proffessional till the late seventies.

I won't have time to go through and scan the rest of them till after Christmas, as well as get my web site up on Uber as well.

Also just one quick question. What's the deal with the framelines on the Leica.

Here is what I saw in the viewfinder.
Here is what is on the neg.
I'm using a Summitar lens from 1940, I was told it is a 50mm, but it's focal length is not marked on the rim. So it could be a 40/45mm lens.
I've tested the framelines against an SLR viewfinder and they seem to be acurate except the 50 frames.
I've since sold the lens (due to stiff focusing), and I am now getting some Zeiss glass.
Best regards to where ever you are in the world.

I'm getting some Zeiss glass too man. Trying to decide between the 50mm Planar and the 35mm Biogon.

Nice page Treamus, Please click on the CASSETTE displayed on my page to listen to the music. Thats me signing and rapping on the first song. I also produced and wrote it. Strange enough, my EX-GIRLFRIEND's brother played the guitar. Things that I mentioned in the song came to pass in real life. Please listen to get the full STORY. I wrote the song but didnt think what I happened to simply create out of exploration of the art would actually happen to me.Please don't forget to VOTE. Over and Out. C.R.I.$.I.$.

Happy to find you here! By the way don’t listen to that double chined bitch curator. Your photography rocks...you just haven’t met the person who understands it yet. Personally I like your style, I feel like its a window through your eyes. Cheers!

Beautiful gallery!! I love your style, give me lots of inspiration as a new street photographer (: Keep the awesome work!

I really enjoy your work. Very casually, circumstantial and comical, it does have meaning! Much to the eye of the interpreter, wonderful. Unfortunately I have crossed over to the dark side of DSLR's and I haven't really gotten the swing of it yet. I think I need to get my ass out of the exhaustingly blah, US and hug my film camera close again.
Dec 06, 2007 9:07 PM
I really really enjoyed looking at your photos. I don't know what those so-called "curators" were thinking, but your work certainly has depth, humour and grit. Keep at it
