In a time long ago, before the first nail salon in Orange County and Tila Tequila probably wasn't even born yet... there was Tom Vu.
Growing up, there were only two Vietnamese people on TV. Dustin Nguyen from 21 Jump Street and late night infomercial pimp Tom Vu. It was lame that Dustin had to play a Japanese guy name Aoki or something like that. But Tom Vu was the shit. Mansion. White girls in Bikinis. Cars. Everything a Vietnamese dude could dream of. My brothers and I watched those infomercials all the time. He showed pictures from his refugee camp days and we thougt he was the king and made it big here.
My homage to the Tom Vu. Who by the way, never went to jail. He's back nowadays as a pro poker/blackjack player and now goes by Tommy Vu.
Tom Vu rocks! I've been fan since 80s when I worked the night shift and watched his infomercial. I dreamed of buying "shopping mall no money down" and having hot girls on my yacht. Great site.
