TolHorse Studios, by Emma Martinson, is a one-woman artistic medium kaleidoscope, bringing together photography, music compositions, fiction prose, and poetry. TolHorse Studios is named in honor of Emma's true inspiration--her horse. While the name, and much of her work, calls upon the equine spirit, TolHorse Studios is not restricted to equine art.
About the artist: Emma is currently working on completing her B.A., majoring in English with a music minor (emphasis on theory/composition).
The Photography: While much of the featured work pertains to equine photography--the natural equine, the athletic equine, and the abstract equine--TolHorse Studios also features nature photography, portraiture, and abstraction. Though some images are the result of digital manipulation, there are many that have not been manipulated beyond that which could be done in a standard darkroom.
The Music: TolHorse Studios creates classical compositions for orchestral and wind instruments, with the occasional piece for voice. While only two pieces are currently recorded (roughly), several pieces exist in manuscript form.
The Writing: Emma is a writer of novel-length fiction (including fantasy, magical realism, and literary fiction) as well as short fiction and poetry.
I love how you can so easily capture all aspects of these horses. It's almost as if they don't know you're there photographing them. Also, thanks for the comment! I really appreciate it!
Hi, I came across your page and absolutely love your photography! I think we're equally big horse fans! I look forward to seeing more of your work in the future.
