A funny part of living in Los Angeles, sometimes the unexpected celebrities are the most interesting to spot...
Today I reached for the camera in the middle consule to get a couple snaps of the Tumbler Batmobile. I've seen it at trade shows before, but never in a day to day situation. It was being transported on a Warner Brothers truck, obviously.
Last night I was able to check out the preview of the ultra hyped "Life Is Beautiful" art show in Hollywood. It opens tonight and it should be a wild scene. For the preview a limited amount of works were shown, though I must see what they left out.
I was able to bring my camera without any problems...
Fusing Abe LIncoln and Barack Obama, this Ron English masterpiece is a partnership with SF's Upper Playground and FIFTY25SF. Only 200 printed, signed and number by English.
I've spent 20 minutes looking for a pre-order link that works... As of right now, looks like all the scoops are gone :(. I will update this if and / or when that changes.
The OBEY x Fingercroxx show in Hong Kong was a hit... The posse asked me to be a part of the show in which we all designed a set of bike wheels. I was amongst some amazing artists and very happy to even be asked. I took the cut vinyl glossy black on black route with a bit of gold flake touches on one side, keeping it pretty sublime:
Here is a close up the morning before I shipped them out to HK (better contrast):
Big ups to Romes and the rest of the OBEY crew, as well as all the other artists...
Big (belly full of beer) ups to this photo of me taken deep into my birthday night by Romes:
New Hot Chip video for "One Pure Thought". Their videos are always visually fascinating to me and this take on pointillism is right up there with the rest.
(One of my must-see bands at Coachella next Saturday)
