As some of you know, I don't own a television, for reasons of aesthetics, time and crappy lightning - amongst other reasons. But I can see it on my laptop if I wish to, and the other day I saw this X-Factor which is the Danish American Idol thing that I have seen hyped so much.
This guy, Martin, is a real Justin Timberlake or something in the making. What a natural talent, and only 15 years! Innocence doesn't come cleaner than this:
This other young guy is also only 15 years. Thought he hasn't gained total control of his voice, look at how he does things in unexpected ways - not to mention the emotional impact. Wow.
This guy just does unexpected things!
And the final one is a cool girl, but mainly I liked that she wears the Gentlemens Affair jeans, the very same model I gave my wife for her birthday three weeks ago. Hah!
Wow, Gentlemens Affair jeans!
I don't always agree with the way they do things the mass media way on television, because after all, they content is mainly produced to fill out the spaces between the advertisement, but I dig these sort of talents. And I think that a lot of dreams and talent will arise because of the mainstream display of talents as these brilliant ones.
I've always told my kids I want a Ferrari. With television shows like this chances are, they might be able to afford one...
A bit of advice. Anne Linnet is a Danish singer songwriter for 30 years who's talent there's no doubt about. She was behind the stage for this show, drilling them in performing one of her Danish songs which has become a classic. I've decided to spare you for that because Danish truly sounds like throat cancer. But anyway, she told one of them, as she was explaining the lyrics, "You have to understand the lyrics, that what she's singing about here is that ["I saw you in the street and to me you were the only person and you were naked" or something] and that she sees that other person naked. As soon as you really understand the lyrics of a(ny) song, you understand the emotions and can rely them."
Wow. I know that's pretty basic, even logic. But doesn't it really make sense. The better you get it, the better you sing it.
Works by the way in photography as well. Look up any intersting word in photography and you get a better grasp of the subject, as well as - usually - ideas on how to use that new knowledge.
By the way, here's links to two of the Danish judges own web sites: Thomas Blachman is a selfcentered futuristic jazz-composer and drummer. Remee is a kind and soulful composer and hitmaker working with Snoop Dogg, etc.
WOW. Funny, I hate American TV, especially "American Idol," which is probably on what the Danish show is based..... THE DANISH ARE MUCH MORE TALENTED ON YOUR VERSION OF THE SHOW!!! I am not holding my ears. Perhaps, we're in for the "DANISH INVASION."
don't watch that crap much it's the effect that the so called social network that is today http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/It's_All_About_Love [aka celeb.com] presently listening to laura marling's cross your fingers [available on itunes]

Hello Thorsten. I've been doing a lot of uber-diving, and I must say that yours stands out as one of my top five blogs. It's so diverse and interesting! Keep up the good work! All the best, Stewart
Hi Thorsten, Thanks for the great idea for a blog posting on how a designer comes to dress a star at the Oscars. I will have to write it! Continue to check my blog, I'm going to continue to add great stuff in the next few weeks. xoNick
I found it annoying, the D-Lux 3, that you can't get a good grip at it. That you use the screen as viewfinder is kind of OK. But the light from the screen, as well as the red AF light at night does not make it a stealth camera like a traditional quiet Leica M.
