While revisiting some music I've listened to a lot, I learned that Return to Forever will do a reunion tour in 2008-2009
On the poster here it's the 1970-edition of Al Di Meola, Lenny White, Stanley Clarke and Chick Corea.
The music of Chick Corea Electric Band and Chick Corea Akoustic Band has always been very special. I know, when you got to a concert with Chick Corea, most of the audience will be musicians, and I'm not. But even I must admit that in much of the music I have no clue what they do, and even less how, but there's just something about it that is out of this world. You know, you don't have to be able to explain why in order to tell something is good.
The band has a website at http://www.return2forever.com and you can also hear an interview with the four here. The interesting thing is that it's historic, but it's four musicians who have been creating new music for the last 30 years. So it's quite unlikely the tour will be an old, tired copy of the Return to Forever. As it was said in the interview, "We'll play it in ways you could never even imagine."
You know, one day when I can photograph like he can play, i'll be kind of satisfied with myself!:
Here's another video with Chick Corea Electric Band, with Eric Marienthal on sax. I remember I went to some Hot Patatoe café or something when in LA to see him play live. I would say this is a pop-funky edition of the CCEB:
I tried listening to Chick Corea a couple of times (my roomate was a jazz musician) and honestly, even though I play a bit of music, I wasn't ready for it. Maybe never will be but I admire what he (they) do.
My faithful Music shop owner offered me some NEW chick LP's (vintage) and I was broke and turned them down... GRRR... Still, since the guy sold me a perfect Technics SL direct drive, he knows I have hunger for LP's for days to come too. (My old Dual.... was beyond reasonable repair)
Having seen Chick just last year I can attest to him still creating new things and playing amazingly. I'm still to listen to any of his albums amazingly, but having played his music; tunes like Spain and La Fiesta, and having heard others play his amazingly diverse solo piano pieces etc. I am really in awe of his ability. Pity about the scientology.
It has been, i confess, long overdue. But i have been procrastinating this simple task of leaving you a comment for weeks. I've been busy and only comment when commented. I do admire your work and your blogs are quite the read. congratulations on a wonderful page. And. xoxoxox :)
I just wanted to say hello and compliment you on your gallery. You've got a really great selection of pictures here, I really like your natural style and your use of light. Lots and lots of interesting stuff to read too! I reckon I'm going to be a regular reader. Take it slow... Mark
Heeeeey... You're another one on here who I see has fanagled a way around (what I thought was the max) of 16 "Top Friends." How'd you manage that one, if you don't mind me asking? Whatever the case, very best of regards to you...CCx
Thanks for the comment on my first post- nice to know I'm not alone in my technological woes! Love your photography- really beautiful shots you've got here.

Hello Thorsten. I've been doing a lot of uber-diving, and I must say that yours stands out as one of my top five blogs. It's so diverse and interesting! Keep up the good work! All the best, Stewart
Hi Thorsten, Thanks for the great idea for a blog posting on how a designer comes to dress a star at the Oscars. I will have to write it! Continue to check my blog, I'm going to continue to add great stuff in the next few weeks. xoNick
I found it annoying, the D-Lux 3, that you can't get a good grip at it. That you use the screen as viewfinder is kind of OK. But the light from the screen, as well as the red AF light at night does not make it a stealth camera like a traditional quiet Leica M.
and honestly, even though I play a bit of music, I wasn't ready for it. Maybe never will be but I admire what he (they) do.
