New URL... I'm customizing it as we speak (or, I type). http://www.kristinprim.blogspot.com I'll probably make it kristinprim.com sooner or later, but for now, that's what it is. All my posts will be moved there. love you guys!! kristin prim_editor@live.com www.myspace.com/thisisitmagazine
I've been neglectful; I know. When school starts, life is basically over... who does anything except read really? But I will stop being boring this weekend and do some stuff to report on, promise.
Anyway, some news. Elle Italia featured prim. in their September 2008 issue on page 200. Glamour France just contacted me asking for a photoshoot and interview, so hopefully I'll be in the next issue as well. FINGERS CROSSED.
So... I basically cried all night yesterday because I lost my white Wayfarers. Okay, so not such a big deal except THEY WERE MY LIFE. I NEVER TOOK THEM OFF. I EVEN GAVE THEM A NAME. ...Okay, well I didn't do that (lol) but seriously. So I'm tearing my house apart looking for them. They worst thing is I HAVE THE CASE IN MY ROOM. IT'S A REMINDER. Ahhhhhhhhhh... The upside to this? We're going into fall and winter so who wants to wear white Wayfarers? I think I might just treat myself to a black pair. Actually, they're already ordered. Oh yeah.
UPDATE: I FOUND THEM!!! WOO HOO. Under my car seat LOL
A lot of people werre asking what updates we're making at prim. (you know our little motto... "Same content. Same attitude. Different prim."). So I decided to give a little peek into the next issue's photo spreads:
Well, there you go. We also updated our programs and presentation. Oh, and the website is currently down (we're getting a new one) but should be back up today or tomorrow, latest. Website.MySpace.
I don't know where to begin. Actually, as soon as I came home I began to describe the show to my friends the only word I could use was "amazing". As a matter of fact, I'm still quite speechless so let's start from the very beginning. I decided to wear my new leather skirt (yay! finally!!) with a simple white tee, my signature MJ bag, a vintage gold necklace, and some cool shoes.
Now... the show. I think I can easily name it the best show I have ever gone to. The clothes and presentation were divine and the vibe from the crowd was incredible:
When "fashion shows" are brought up in a conversation, people always think of the runway. Wrong. Fashion shows are actually little "exhibits" set up inside a gallery that present the work of the designer(s). This was a true fashion show. I honestly don't know how to cover the show any other way, so here's my little "walk through".
______________________________
The show began with stone faced models entering the showroom in black robes and futuristic sunglasses, concealing the designs underneath.
SCENE 1: The cutting. Once all the models entered, they began to take their places. The first installment included three models who simply began cutting pieces of paper adorned with Love Brigade's logo into slits which daintily fell to the ground. The models almost seemed in a trance, unfazed by anything around them.
SCENE 2: The operation. An emergency "surgery" began to take place. Four stone faced models shielded by glasses each took their turn "cutting" up their patient who lay in the center of the table. Their professionalism amazed me; I won't lie... I could never keep a straight face while "slicing" someone on a table while everyone stared.
SCENE 3: The bed. After the surgery was through, four models climbed into bed. No, don't get excited; it was done both artistically and professionally. The models simply rolled around the bed, almost pausing whenever they reached a position. Incredible shoes and glasses lay next to the bed.
SCENE 4:Baked. Three "tanning" models took their places and soaked up the rays.
SCENE 5: The Party. The final installment of the show was a celebration. The model's moods and style of dance clearly changed with the spirit of the song. It was the only area in the show that showed any form of emotion.
Overall, it was incredible. I'm still pretty much speechless. Tons of street style scouts were around and just happened to take my picture. What else is new (wink, wink)??
I <3 Love Brigade.
Gen Art <3s Me... Street Style Proof. Hells Yeah!
Check out more coverage in the next issue of prim.!
NEXT SHOW: Sheila Frank 9/11. Should be incredible.
On Tuesday I plan on attending Brooklyn Fashion Week; and get this... the models are walking across the Brooklyn Bridge! It's run by Fashion Indie. That being said, it should we absolutely incredible. I'll take tons of pics and be back to report on Wednesday!
Anyway, random stuff now.
I started working on the new layout for prim. I guess I got tired of it looking a wee bit amateur. We be uppin' the ante. Shhhh... you're getting a preview.
New header! Well, sorta. Just changed the basic picture.
I feel that I'm forgetting to mention something major. I probably am. Anyway, if it really is that important I'll be back to write more.
Oh, by the way... you can always reach me at prim_editor@live.com. 24 hour service bitches.
Be back Wednesday to share the show! Peace babies.
It's not often that I tend to write about brands, but these muthatruckers are hot. I give you... Priestess NYC, a label that has been gracing my ever-so-true "Hot Brands" list for the past few months. Here are some of their designs for Fall '08 along with a biography of the lovely Cody, head designer. Oh and p.s.- I kind of cut off the model's head in them because I took screen shots and couldn't fit the whole body in. Sorry!
Cody Ross is a Dallas-born fashion designer known for his kitschy and sometimes provocative designs. After working in Asia for several years as a financial analyst, he returned to the United States to pursue his true passion and launched Priestess NYC in late 2007. His unique creations have been worn by celebrities and supermodels including Tyra Banks, Maggie Rizer, Bjork, and Danity Kane, etc. The line has attracted buyers from avant-garde boutiques and department stores around the world. Cody’s main inspiration come from abstract art, mathematics and ‘vintage-punk.’ He designs out of his West Village townhouse and lives full time in NYC. He has a BSC from the London School of Economics as well as credentials in pattern-construction + design from London’s Central Saint Martins.
OK... now this might be just me but does this look even slightly reminiscent of Ms. Molly's glad bag article from the June/July issue? Maybe it's the editor in me trying to squeeze out so muse-manship. LOL (seen below)
The last few days have been so crazy. It's ad selling time for prim. and that always gets confusing. Anyway, I finally crawled out of my house and visited the promenade. I took some pics:
Outfit: I wore my new flapper inspired shirt and black pants... yes, I finally gave in. I topped it off with my elf shoes and new cardi. Yahhhh yahhhh
I found this gauze-y black cardigan which I absolutely love:
I had too much fun... one of my 1,000 photos taken with the same freaking pair of shoes:
My latest crush... I need a new black bag. Of course it's Marc; what isn't? Maybe I'll pick it up :)
The prim. pins are expected to arrive tomorrow so I'll post when they get here. Yay!

Hi. We just started here on Uber.com and we really love the site. We can't believe it is shutting down. Is there any way you think it will be "saved" or is it gone forever? We sell replica jewelry and handbags and got the username "replicajewelry", it was perfect. I am originally from China, moved to the US when I was very young (now 30), just moved back to Shanghai. I work full-time for a German company here, but run my Replica Jewelry and Handbag website www.wholesaleanyw here.com with a couple of friends the rest of my time. Anyway, I just thought I would make some friends in the last couple of days on Uber and see where everyone is going next, back to facebook or myspace or on to another spot. Let me know.
