O Floridian architecture, how I generally despise thee! Leave it to the sunshine state (and the place I have coincidentally lived the majority of my young life) to spawn terrifying multitudes of flabby, artless buildings- some of which are even suppose to pass as homes.

Thank goodness for the early Spanish influence in St. Augustine! I saw this enchanting green spire surfacing from the skyline, and we tracked it down to this amazing cathedral. The lighting was amazing in it.. Granted, it is no Barcelona or Florence, but it inspired me none the less to snap some photos of my favorite moments with my Polaroid camera and E's amazing 35 mm Pentax.

The air is turning slightly cooler here in the land of marsh sunflowers. Yellow is my favorite color this year (it has been red for many years before that, but I decided a change was all too delicious!). And such a dreamy color yellow is! It flashes spectacular, especially in petal form.

Strangely enough though, I treated myself to a little dove dark chocolate today and the secret message inside said "You know what? You look good in red."

I guess my love for the scarlets and crimsons of the world will never fade, but I am so thankful for the existence of soft saffrons and brilliant yellows as well.

My delightful Aunti just sent me a link to ROSALOVES. At first I thought, "Ho hum, another printed t-shirt site." But then I realized that the Rosa shirts are not only beautifully designed (I'd wear them!), but each shirt has it's own mission.

They tell stories, about real people and organizations in need. The design on the front of the shirt is inspired by the story, and the story is even printed on the inside of the shirt. All the proceeds from the shirt go to accomplishing the goals to help the organizations/ individuals in the story.

It's a perfect cycle, if you ask me!

This shirt is being sold to raise scholarship funds for students of the Child Development Center in Baje Amli, Bangladesh, which was built with funds raised from the Sharkar Family T-shirt.

While Anthropology (the endless study; the mindset; the obsession) will ever remain a constant and sometimes nagging love of mine, its sartorial cousin offers endless amounts of beautifully tailored dresses and elegant trinkets.

I would love to learn how to work with resin and create beads and inlaid jewelry with it- the asymmetry of the necklace above is just so perfect. Also, I love design of the "spectra" section of their adornment site (see above right). The objects seem suspended in space, but obediently wander to the center spotlight when you mouseover them. Clever indeed! :)

Although most of the spring collections I've seen so far in pictures make me cringe with disgust, there are some that make my heart go rather fluttery!

Koi Suwannagate has created a collection I can only describe as a most lovely ode to the gods of spring ethereal! I'm really loving calm tones such as ivory and the soft browny greys that have . Although many of the collections indulged in a chaos of bold, exuberant patterns, I much prefer to indulge the delicate poetic details of her designs. I've just looked at her site and I think I have finally found a clothing designer who truly amazes me.
And for charming little dashes of color, Thakoon is there again to make me smile.
