The recontouring of the land continues apace a couple of days after I took the last set of photos.
From a couple of days earlier. If you look real closely, you can see a worker passing alongside the red truck to give you an idea of the size of the machinery.
Wife and I had a good time watching our son and his band Solace perform at a little bar, Squire's in Lexington, Kentucky. It gave me a chance to try out some Fuji color film 1600 in available light. My Canon 1.4 lens made it all possible. The lighting was dimmer than it looks. Pretty grainy. It would have been nice to see Kyle's face clearer, but c'est la vie.
Benji of Solace.
I love the mirrors. I think Benji was enjoying Kyle and BJ wail on the guitars.
Jackie and her pina colada
My wife giving me a great smile. At least I think that's what that is.
ICG, one of the bigger coal companies, has just started a new strip mine site. So I get to see them tearing up the earth and digging out the coal on my drive to work and home every day. I've lived here 15 years and thanks to the coal industry, there are a lot fewer mountains than there used to be. BTW, there's no such thing as "clean coal."
Earth First! We'll strip mine the other planets later.
Too tired to write. Have to go to bed. I will upload more photos soon. Promise. Still learning to use Uber. Not so easy for someone like me, an old techno retard.
