Sexy Go-Go Boys, Underwear Design and a Birthday Party!

Los Angeles based designer Andrew Christian has been designing underwear and sportswear for a long time. He has been my friend for as long as I can remember--I would say almost ten years (I am so aging myself and him!). His label--a White cross in a red background--is very visible in all his designs and he has become the go-to-guy for hot sexy underwear for the West Hollywood/Chelsea gym bunnies.

Now, I am far from that demographic but I love his underwear and especially his graphic tees. I was really excited to also find out that Andrew was expanding his line into vests as well as slim-cut pants. Andrew recently became a little more well-known for his appearance on the Janice Dickenson Modeling Agency, where he cast her models for an Andrew Christian photoshoot, for his new line of women's sexy undergarments.

Last week, he asked me to host his very special Birthday Bash at the Hollywood nightclub Jimmy's in the seedier end of Hollywood. I asked him, what would "hosting" entail? He said, "Oh, just meet and greet guests, pose next to the nearly naked go-go boys dressed in Andrew Christian and maybe say 'Happy Birthday' on stage at the end of the night" I probably didn't hear anything he said after the "nearly-naked go-go boys" statement. Of course, I said 'Yes', and decided to wear my brand-new Andrew Christian houndstooth vest (under my H & M jacket) for my "hosting" duties and dragged my partner, David as well as my good friends, Erik and Johnny with me. Nick's 'Entourage', if you will...

The party was supposed to be very secret and VIP but somehow 3/4 of West Hollywood and Silver Lake found out about it and there were over 800 RSVP's. Upon arriving at the party and after doing the requisite "red carpet", I saw Andrew--also wearing his own Andrew Christian vest--as well as several of the Janice Dickenson Modeling Agency models, such as the always sweet and sexy JP Calderon and Brazilan hottie Rodrigo. I also spotted the outrageous Bobby Trendy (looking like he wore something from the latest Season 4 designers' Christian and Chris Collection), as well as my friend, the talented comedian and actor, Alec Mapa. I also spotted several trainers from Bravo's "Workout", including the hunky Brian Peeler and Big Brother's Marcelles Reynolds, looking very chic in his trench coat.

I never did get to get up on stage and "introduce" Andrew or do my Marilyn Monroe rendition of "Happy Birthday", but it's probably for the best. I probably would have been boo'ed off the stage, to be replaced with those hot sexy go-go boys displaying their fabulous Andrew Christian underwear. It was a fun event and best of all, my friend Andrew gave me more underwear and t-shirts to take home. One thing is for sure: You will never see me on stage gyrating with those underwear, it will be for private use only!

LA-based fashion designer Nick Verreos received national and international attention after appearing on Bravo's Project Runway Season 2 and quickly became a "fan favorite" after winning the "Barbie Challenge". His design and doll were subsequently sold at Toys 'R Us stores across the nation. Nick has dressed celebrities such as actresses Eva Longoria and Brenda Strong of "Desperate Housewives", "Access Hollywood's" Nancy O'Dell, and various Miss USA's and Miss Universes and most recently he designed the gown which was worn by Miss California 2007 in the Miss USA pageantNick has provided Fashion Commentary for several shows on E! Recently, Nick signed a deal with retailer Windsor Fashions to design a "Nick Verreos for Windsor" Prom Dress line as well as become the spokesperson for the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM), the school where he teaches part-time. Hi Nick,

It's been a long time.

We went to high school together.

I don't know if you remeber me but me, you and Rita did so much fashion talk back then.

I'm glad that you went into fashion and I am very fond of your designs.

Now that I am a transexual, I would love to model your dresses.

Well, if you don't rember me, please take out the year books from M○lls High School and see......

Love and kisses from Japan

Yoshiyuki Nakamura
