Carla Bruni, Then...and NowBack when I was a young boy (the age of
Christian Siriano) and attending fashion design school,
Carla Bruni was one of the Supermodel Divas I would draw every night while having fantasies of becoming "America's Next Top....Designer". Here she is seen in her heyday, modeling a Versace fuschia see-through lace number from over 10 years ago! She was infamous for her party-girl/socialite (she comes from old money) antics and
Paris Match photographed her every move. This is how I remember her.
Well, kiddies, here is
Carla Bruni now.
Paris Match is photographing her every move now, but for a different reason. Miss Bruni is now
Mrs. Sarkozy, the wife of
Nicolas Sarkozy, President of France. They just made their first "official visit" to Great Britain and visited London's Westminster Abbey. Look at her now: She looks very much the part of the First Madame: The black wool felt coat, the prim-and-proper gray dress (covering the knees of course!) and the swept back chignon. And I bet she styled herself. Talk about a transformation. She gets my "At-a-girl" style points for the month of March.
Now she looks "improbable" lady.
Nick, did you see this photo?:
