So, Rayray has beat me to it, however, like her, I have decided to move my blog to another site as I cant really get to grips with using Uber - it keeps freezing and not uploading stuff for me and my friends are having problems commenting and getting involved.
This is the first installment of a regular blog post where I will show you my fave fashion items. Today I thought I would start with shoes!
I'm a real shoe girl and although I really struggle wearing high heels and keeping a smile on my face at the same time, I loooove them. These are my current love affair...
They are vintage Moschino and I bought them for a steal on ebay. I desperately wanted a pair of studded shoes a la the Christian Louboutin studded Mary Janes everyone went crazy for, however I certainly didn't have the budget to spend on them. I could, however spend £40 on these! Although high, they have a platform which makes them much easier to walk in and they are covered in 80's style studs which make them very hard and punky, however in direct contrast they have a lovely grossgrain bow on the front. I personally think they are even better than the Louboutins and I can't believe my luck in getting hold of these!
I went to London Fashion Weekend at The Natural History Museum in London yesterday which was a little bit of a disappointment to be honest. A lot of what was on sale was a load of old tat or far too feminine and floaty for my liking. Luckily for me I didn't see too much that I wanted to buy as it is a week away from pay day and I am skint!
The only items I saw which I wanted were by Berube. Berube is a London based design outfit and the A/W 2007 collection they were selling off at huge discounts was just what I was looking for. Simple, wearable, slightly masculine pieces in grey and black with sequin embellished bags and accessories and pom pom scarves. The bags are especially nice, oversized soft black Italian leather slouchy bags and small sequin purse bags being my particular faves. I had to purchase this bargain - original price a whopping £105 but a steal at LFWeekend at £20!
I shall be keeping an eye on Berube and checking out their online store. Their A/W2008 collection, Audreys Dance again is heavy on black, this time wet look PVC style black, which also a shot of fushia pink throughout. This outfit has to be my favourite in terms of wearability and style;
Well the first M&S outfit arrived for me and its going back....
Not because of the quality, which was really good, but because of the size and way it looks on me!
I received the black body con denim skirt and grey vest top (see earlier post - what goes down must come up?) and the vest was nice enough but too long and the skirt was like wrapping a big tight black bandage round my thighs. The quality was great and the cut was spot on but sadly my body was failing on this look. Back it all goes and hopefully I will score some luck with the sailor dress!
I bought this bag a little while ago from e-bay. Its old and vintage Chanel - not sure if it is fake, it feels very soft and looks real to me but you never can tell with "vintage". Anyway, whilst the overall condition of the bag is good, it needs a clean and the gold on the double CC has flaked off a bit so it needs re-guilding. I am thinking of taking it to a bag repair place for an overhaul as it is a fab size and style. Anyone know of any good repair places in London?
Following on from my post re. feathers, I also saw this wonderful couture dress by Gaultier which I love love love...
This dress has a real natural and earthy feel to it with the feather style wings and petal effect bottom. The folky, hippiness of it makes me think of forests, trees, birds and fauna. It also makes me think of Alison Goldfrapp's new incarnation for her latest album...
The Owl looks remarkably like the dress! I also love Alison's clown outfit here with the pom poms and wonderful collar. I'm on the major look out for something like that Gaultier dress!
Im blogging away whilst watching the Brit Awards and twice now I have seen blatant rip offs of Daft Punk, firstly with the Rihanna and Klaxons collaboration with the laser show and red pyramid and also with Kylie Minogue and her Daft Punk dancers. Now I love Daft Punk and nobody can do them better than themselves so Im a little pissed off. Grrrrr...
Beth Ditto looked great ion her hot pink dress though. When piccies are out, I'll post one.
